Our EMTs staff the Syringa Hospital ambulance, responding to more than 500 calls a year.
These calls include vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, interfacility transfers, backcountry rescue, and other emergency incidents.
We staff the ambulance in 12 and 24 hour shifts. Every shift has three EMTs on call as primary responders. If the primary ambulance gets called out of the service area, three more EMTs are called upon to be "backup" with a second ambulance until the primary crew returns.

GEMTA members serve the community in other ways as well, providing CPR and child safety training to the public; participating in sober graduation events, organizing and hosting "Spring Fling" which is an annual continuing education conference for EMTs from three states, and participating in regional disaster preparedness drills.
We standby on-site for high school football games, rodeos, and high-risk law enforcement operations, and participate annually in "Trunk or Treat" - providing children a risk-free environment to participate in Halloween activities .
